There isn't much in this Lanvin collection I considered particularly special, except for the pieces I chose above. I had hoped that the Spring RTW 2011 collection was a rare occasion when there were many dull pieces and a few stand-out pieces. It appears this collection is similar, although I can probably say that this season is an improvement on the last. What I particularly admire is the draping, the beautiful cape tops and the wave-like sleeves. Yes, it is particularly lush and that is what makes Lanvin an important French design-house but for the future, I think they can do better.

I was a little bit disappointed at the level of design that has gone into this season's flat shoes and mid heels. It's a real shame because these are the most wearable pieces and also the most obvious item pragmatic shoppers are likely to buy. Anyway, I managed to scrounge together a few pairs that I think are worthy of mention and display. Hope you are inspired.

I was a little bit disappointed with the overall collection by Lanvin this season because although there were some stand out pieces, including that red dress modelled by Karlie Kloss (photo sourced from Garance Doré), it wasn't outstanding as a whole. Some of the pieces were very plain in cut, style and concept. Of course, that is my opinion only. But I have chosen the pieces above which I believe are the most original, interesting and beautiful. Hopefully next time we will see more of this careful drapery and body conscious style.

* Note: I used the photo from Garance because most of the others available made the dress appear pink. This is not the case, as in the backstage photos it was clear that the dress was red.
